Authorities in Butte County, California, are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 73-year-old Paul Olmsted, who has been reported missing and is the subject of a Silver Alert. Law enforcement officials are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward as the search continues.
According to the Butte County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), Olmsted was last seen at approximately 4:30 p.m. in the area of Olive Highway and Oakville, near Chico. Investigators said he was last observed traveling west along Olive Highway before disappearing, and his current location remains unknown.
Officials describe Paul Olmsted as a white male with gray hair and blue or green eyes. He stands approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs around 165 pounds. At the time he was last seen, he was wearing a dark-colored shirt, black pants, and dark glasses.
Authorities also noted that Olmsted may be missing one of his shoes, a detail investigators believe could help members of the public identify him if they see someone matching his description. Because of his age and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance, officials are concerned for his safety and well-being.
