A 14-year-old Idaho boy has died after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle near Middleton High School, according to authorities. The driver involved in the collision has since been arrested and is facing multiple charges.
The Middleton Police Department announced that the teenager died early in the morning following the crash, which occurred Friday near Middleton High School in Middleton, Idaho. Police and the Idaho State Police responded to the scene after receiving reports of the collision.
The injured teenager was transported from the scene by Life Flight to St. Luke’s Boise for emergency medical treatment. Despite efforts to save his life, authorities later confirmed that the 14-year-old had died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Police identified the driver as Alyssa Louise Anderson. Following the investigation, Anderson was arrested and booked into the Canyon County Jail.
Anderson is facing charges of vehicular manslaughter, aggravated driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an injury accident. The charges reflect the allegations made by authorities and have not been proven in court.
