A child was injured after being struck by a vehicle while riding a scooter along the **Monon Trail** on Indianapolis’ north side Monday, prompting an investigation by the **Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD)**.
Officers were dispatched to the intersection of **East 46th Street and the Monon Trail** after receiving reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a young rider. According to IMPD’s preliminary investigation, the child, identified as a juvenile boy, was traveling northbound on the Monon Trail while riding a scooter. At the same time, a sedan was traveling westbound on East 46th Street when the two collided at the intersection.
The boy sustained what authorities described as **minor injuries** in the crash. He was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment.
